CAPMT PIANO AUDITIONS
This statewide event is held annually and is a great way for students to receive feedback from a qualified adjudicator. This event is designed to encourage and motivate students through the evaluation of a prepared solo and accompanied literature. Top rated students receive a trophy at the chapter level and are invited to perform at the CAPMT Southern Festival. RSBCC will be hosting Piano Auditions online for the year 2020 with student video submissions due December 1st. Duets are still accepted at this time. Students are also permitted to use a non-memorized solo in lieu of the duet requirement, and are encouraged to explore works by a female or BIPOC composer.
CAPMT ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS
Held annually in conjunction with CAPMT Piano Auditions, this event is open to any combination of piano, instrumental, and vocal students. Ensemble’s are rated 1-5, with those receiving 5-, 5, or 5+ awarded with trophies at the chapter level and invited to perform at the CAPMT Southern Festival. This years Ensemble Auditions will be held online with video submissions. Students who cannot perform live ensembles may choose to perform solo works with pre-recorded accompaniment or explore multi-tracking and video editing to accommodate multiple parts.
CAPMT HONORS AND CONTEMPORARY COMPETITION
This statewide program for serious competitive students of all instruments and voice, fosters advanced competition skills through heavier repertory demands. RSBCC is proud to be the host chapter for District 4. All District winners will compete at the State Finals. This year’s competition will be held at online. More information will be available soon regarding video submission process and updated regulations.
RSBCC STUDENT RECITAL
Open to all instruments including voice. This annual celebration of music study is a great way to start the new year! Held annually in January. Students of all ages and levels are encouraged to participate in this free event. Students will perform one piece or in ensemble. RSBCC SUMMER FESTIVAL
Our newest initiative, RSBCC Summer Festival is an opportunity to introduce students to performance and evaluations. This event is designed to encourage students of all ages and levels to participate in the evaluation process. Students will receive compliments with suggestions for improvement from a qualified adjudicator. Top scoring students will receive a medal. RCM CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
These examinations are held throughout the year in both Riverside and Redlands for both practical and written exams. The Royal Conservatory of Music Certificate Program is the official exam of CAPMT and is an excellent way to ensure students are receiving a well balanced musical education in performance and theory.
